2019 Mclaren Senna Can Am

74100 deab8beb v2 1

In the late 1960’s, the McLaren team was unstoppable in Can-Am, a North American race series with very few regulations, that saw some of the most extreme designs in motorsports history. The 1969 season was all about the orange McLaren Can-Am cars, with the McLaren M8B starting on pole and winning all 11 races that season (three in Canada, and eight in the U.S.). To pay homage to the all-conquering M8B, McLaren Special Operations (MSO) built a limited run of just three “street legal” Senna GTR’s, named the Senna Can-Am.

The McLaren Senna is, without a doubt, one of the most extreme creations to roll out of any automotive production line. From its copious amount of power to an aggressive and aerodynamic design, the Senna is a tour de force. After launching the Senna and dropping jaws, the Senna GTR was released as a race-ready track-only version. If you wanted to experience the Senna GTR on the road, you couldn’t. That is, until the Senna Can-Am. With just three examples produced, the Can-Am is the rarest of all Senna variants, and a love letter to the McLaren M8B race car.

1958 Porsche 356 Speedster

74899 ce57b259 v2

Built on November 11, 1957, this Porsche 356 Speedster was destined for the U.S. market, being optioned with U.S. specification headlights, bumpers, and speedometer.

The first owner of record was Clarence Cotter of Chicago, who took delivery on May 21, 1958. Mr. Cotter would own the Speedster for the next 49 years. It is hard for most folks to imagine owning anything for 49 years, but Cotter would treasure his Speedster just shy of half a century. Initially used as a road car, at some point the focus changed to track use, and after many years of enjoyment, in the mid-1990’s Cotter placed the Speedster into storage.

After spending more than half a lifetime with his Speedster, Clarence Cotter decided it was time to move on, and on December 13, 2013 it was purchased by Tom Scott, the owner of 356 Consulting in Denver, Colorado. Scott is a renowned 356 restoration expert and Porsche Club of America judge, whose cars have won the prestigious Porsche Parade Best of Show several times, including Best of Show with a 356 Speedster.

Scott immediately began a bare metal restoration of chassis 84095, which remarkably still retained its factory fitted original matching numbers engine. Every element of the Speedster was addressed during the restoration process, with the intention that the car be as meticulous mechanically as it would be cosmetically flawless, knowing that the stunning original color combination of Meissen Blue over a Red interior would make for the perfect Best of Show contender.

During the restoration an enthusiast in Canada contacted Scott, and purchased the car with the understanding that Scott would complete the restoration for him. The project was completed in December 2014, and then shown at the 2015 Dana Point Porsche Concours where it scored 298.0 points (out of 300) the very first time it was judged. The Speedster has covered just 705 miles since the completion of its restoration, and has been maintained by Canepa to a concours level for the past 5 years.

1958 was the last year of 356 Speedster production, with an estimated 552 produced. Presented here is an excellent opportunity to be the next caretaker of a concours-level, expertly restored Speedster. Sold complete with its convertible top and frame, side windows, short tonneau cover, storage bags, spare, and jack.

2019 Porsche Turbo S

75084 8f82d53e v2

Pairing performance with luxurious usability, the Porsche 911 Turbo S is the opposite of the GT2 RS’ flamboyant street fighter, being more akin to a hitman in a tux. Capable of 0-60 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds, with 580 horsepower on tap and rear-wheel steering paired to a super-fast 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, the 911 Turbo S is an automotive tour-de-force that has no match when it comes to performance in comfort.

This pristine 1-owner Carmine Red Turbo S is beautifully optioned with a stunning and wonderfully complimentary Natural Leather interior in Espresso, featuring extended deviated stitching and a high-end Burmester surround sound system. Additionally, the optional Front Axle Lift System provides peace of mind when driving in both city and urban areas.

Delivered new by Porsche Fresno in May of 2019, the 911 Turbo S has remained in Northern California’s mild climate, with regular maintenance provided by Porsche Walnut Creek. Additionally, a clear Paint Protection Film was installed on the front bumper, spoiler, hood, front fenders, and side mirrors. Having covered just 2,481 miles, the Turbos S remains in like-new condition.

Upon arriving at Canepa the Turbo S was subjected to a comprehensive inspection within our Service department and found to be in like-new condition throughout. To be offered with a full concourse-show-level “Canepa Difference” detail, Owners Manuals, Spare Key, Service Records, and Window Sticker, this is an opportunity to acquire a highly prized iteration of Porsche’s incredibly potent Turbo nameplate, that in terms of value for money, plays in a league of its own.
