At Gallery Aaldering, they have seen their share of legends. Yet every so often, a car arrives that combines craftsmanship, performance, and rarity. A car that defines why they fell in love with automobiles in the first place.
Today, they proudly present what may well be the finest Aston Martin DB4 Vantage in existence.
A left-hand-drive Series 4 Vantage, one of only 14 examples ever built and quite possibly the very best among them. Restored and rebuilt by world-class specialists Bodylines/Spray-Tec/RS Williams Restorations.
The DB4 Series 4 Vantage is the rarest DB of the 1960s. The dimensions of the DB4 Series 4 Vantage are similar to the GT and the DB4 Series 5, and the DB6 Vantage is longer, higher, and heavier than the DB4 Series 4 Vantage. This combination makes this Series 4 highly desirable.
Stephen Archer of Aston Martin Insight described this specific car as:
“The finest DB4 Vantage in the world and unlikely ever to be surpassed.”

A Swiss-Born Rarity, Cherished by Just Three Owners
Originally delivered new in Switzerland in 1962, this DB4 has led an exceptionally privileged life.
Just three owners from new, each a careful custodian who understood its importance and treated it accordingly.
Its left-hand-drive configuration makes it one of the most desirable DB4s ever produced. To encounter one is extraordinary; to find one in this condition with only 33,000 kilometers is almost unthinkable.

Restored by the Best
To call this a restoration would be an understatement. It was a resurrection.
The car was entrusted to Bodylines/Spray-Tec/ RS Williams Restorations. Spray-Tec Restorations is the world’s foremost Aston Martin restoration specialist known for their meticulous, near-obsessive devotion to authenticity.
Every element of this DB4 was stripped, inspected, and rebuilt to factory-correct perfection. The original chassis and panels, remarkably solid, were preserved and restored, not replaced. The original matching engine, transmission, and drivetrain were fully rebuilt according to Aston Martin Works specifications.
The result is staggering: a car that captures the look, feel, and drive as if it left Newport Pagnell in 1962. Below a copy of the original purchase invoice.
Vantage Power, Handled with Grace
This is the Vantage. The most potent DB4 ever made, apart from the mythical DB4 GT.
Its 3.7-litre inline-six, fed by special carburetion and breathing through revised manifolds, delivers its power with a velvet ferocity.
Behind the wheel, it’s everything an Aston Martin should be: poised, tactile, elegant. The steering dances in your hands. The gearbox clicks with precision. It moves like a grand tourer, but with the heart of a racing car.
Every sound, every vibration, is poetry in motion and a perfect harmony of performance and refinement that has never been replicated since.
Preservation of Soul: The Original Interior
While its mechanicals were returned to perfection, its interior was treated differently with respect for time.
The original leather, trim, and patina remain, telling the story of sixty years of quiet admiration. It’s an atmosphere money cannot recreate only history can. Sitting inside feels like stepping into a perfectly kept London gentleman’s club, one that still carries the scent of craftsmanship and confidence.
A Masterpiece of British Motoring History
The DB4 Series 4 Vantage was, even in period, regarded as the pinnacle of Aston Martin’s grand touring vision. The bridge between the raw DB4 GT and the elegant DB5.
But among the fourteen left-hand-drive cars, this one stands alone.
Restored by the best. Preserved with integrity. Recognized by the experts.
A DB4 that represents everything Aston Martin stands for: grace, power, rarity, and restraint.
Rare. Refined. Remarkable. Ready for the Connoisseur.
Cars of this calibre rarely appear and when they do, they don’t stay.
