Giddy Minx

Chassis: 888197

Registration: EBY 734B

Giddy Minx, as Pendine affectionately refer to their own E-Type was built as a fast road car, specifically with swift, European motoring in mind. The idea was to produce a rapid, comfortable coupe with upgrades that would increase performance, handling, safety and durability, with the intention of competing in non-FIA European events. Pendine started with a sound, matching numbers car recently imported from the USA and over a two year period Pendine completely restored the car.

Visually, Pendine wanted it to look like a three year old SCCA racer. Pendine left the lovely, original chrome, fitted old, worn leather to the seats. Mechanically, everything has been completely gone through and rebuilt. Pendine like to think it’s the kind of car that by 1967 would have been worked on during the evenings, driven to the circuit, raced and driven home. This is the full specification:

The name Giddy Minx comes from a pulp fiction short story from the 1930s.

“A shady Private Dick refers to a blond client, who has asked him to investigate her husband’s death, as “a damned Giddy Minx, all lips and talk that I can’t work out. She’s either blind with love for me or playing me for the fool. I’ll play her both ways, see where I get”. When he realises it was, in fact, her who murdered her husband, she cuts his throat.”
