With the 21st edition of Stuttgart’s RETRO CLASSICS®, the classic car scene was supposed to start the new season as early as mid-March. Now, the world’s largest trade fair for driving culture will be postponed by a few weeks, just to be on the safe side. The exhibitors welcome this decision. The new date is 21 to 24 April 2022.
Postponement for safety’s sake: 21st edition of the world’s largest trade fair for driving culture will take place from 21 to 24 April 2022.
After the break last year due to the corona pandemic, RETRO CLASSICS® was actually due to reopen the classic car season in March 2022. The date of this event, which has been eagerly awaited by dealers, collectors and lovers of classic cars, has now been deferred by a good month to spring: the 21st edition of the world’s largest trade fair for driving culture will now open its doors in Stuttgart from 21 to 24 April 2022. The organiser and the exhibitors all agree that this will help to achieve planning certainty.
“In view of the extremely dynamic situation at present, we decided to reschedule the trade fair for safety reasons,” said Karl Ulrich Herrmann, managing shareholder of RETRO Messen GmbH and founder of RETRO CLASSICS®. “In our capacity as the organiser, we have a great responsibility both towards our visitors and our exhibitors. Our decision means that we are fulfilling this responsibility.
“We will endeavour to stage the 21st edition of RETRO CLASSICS® in the usual way and with the same high quality,” assured Herrmann. “We therefore do not want to stick rigidly to the original date. On the contrary, we expect that the new date will lead to a more successful event which suits every participant – exhibitors and visitors alike. Since only a few weeks are involved, the preparations could continue aalmost unhindered.”
This step is very much welcomed by the exhibitors. Herrmann: “We are in constant contact with all important exhibitors who have given us their unanimous approval.” The new date therefore gives the “green light for everything”. “The fact that RETRO CLASSICS® will take place at the end of April in the calendrical spring could also lead to an additional, subliminally positive effect since the general mood will certainly be entirely different by then.”
