The 1975 saloon car race at the Norisring in Nürnberg was the last big confrontation between the legendary works Ford Capris and BMW CSL Coupés.
Hans-Joachim Stuck, BMW 3.0 CSL (30), Jochen Mass, Ford Capri (31), Helmut Kelleners, Porsche 911 RSR (35), Harald Grohs, BMW 3.0 CSL (36), Jürgen Lässig, Porsche 911 RSR (39), 200 Meilen von Nürnberg, Norisring 1975
Although their racing programme stopped at the end of 1974, they were attracted by the money offered and thus sent Hans-Joachim Stuck (3.0 litre CSL) and Jochen Mass (Capri RS 3100). Both dominated the race ahead of a bunch of Porsches and swapped the lead several times, but shortly before the end Stuck’s BMW suffered brake issues and retired leaving Mass to win the race.
