The vehicle with chassis number 440298 was built in July 1939 as one of only 600 limited edition vehicles. The first owner of the vehicle was the Reichsarmee (SS) in 1939. After the end of the Second World War, the vehicle was shipped to New Zealand.
In March 2004, the vehicle was re-imported from New Zealand to Germany. The new owner was Dr. K.D.Z. from Germany. The vehicle later became the property of a well-known entrepreneur from Solingen. After his death, the vehicle was sold to the “La Cochera Classic” collection in 2023 on behalf of the community of heirs.
With a mileage of just 624 km, this classic car is a real gem. With an output of 57 kW and a displacement of 3381 cc, the Mercedes Benz 320 W142 offers impressive driving performance. The interior of the vehicle is fitted with high-quality cream-colored leather, which gives a luxurious and elegant impression. The convertible top of the Mercedes Benz 320 W 42 is in mint condition and of high quality. It is made of Sonnenland material and gives the vehicle an elegant look.
The vehicle’s 6-cylinder engine is characterized by its smooth running and enables a comfortable drive through the countryside. The 4-speed gearbox plus a 5th “highway gear” ensures a pleasant gear ratio and a relaxed driving experience. Another highlight of this vehicle is the retrofitted passenger compartment heating, which provides additional comfort. By comparing the data card with the installed units and the data received from the Mercedes-Benz Museum, it was established that all installed parts match the vehicle.
