The current pandemic situation continues to make it necessary to keep a close eye on the health of all exhibitors, visitors and employees. In view of this responsibility and the continuing ban on holding major events until the end of August 2020, the originally planned alternative date of TECHNO-CLASSICA ESSEN at the end of June 2020 must be cancelled.

This decision follows the decisions of the Federal Government, which were last updated on 6 May 2020. The travel restrictions which continue to apply also prevent the preparation and holding of the fair at the planned date in June 2020.
S.I.H.A. as the organiser, together with Messe Essen GmbH and all partners, has taken this decision on the basis of the current situation. Thus, one thing is certain: The next
TECHNO-CLASSICA Essen – most important international platform for the classic car scene – will take place next year as scheduled
from 7 to 11 April 2021.
S.I.H.A. as the organiser expressly thanks the numerous exhibitors and partners as well as the long-standing visitors of TECHNO-CLASSICA ESSEN, who have expressed their understanding for the measures taken. The high degree of solidarity has been a sign of trust.
While the planning for the 2021 edition has already started, S.I.H.A. is announcing a special highlight at the end of the year: Together with several exhibitors, collectors, enthusiasts and representatives of the industry, the ESSEN MOTOR SHOW 2020 from 28 November to 6. December 2020 to a new format, which will appeal in particular to many classical music fans:
“TECHNO-CLASSICA ESSEN meets ESSEN MOTOR SHOW 2020”
Under this motto, the new Classic & Prestige Salon in Halls 1 and 2 will shorten the waiting time until the coming TECHNO-CLASSICA ESSEN 2021 with a large number of exciting exhibits. The guests will be delighted: Well over half of the approximately 360,000 visitors to the ESSEN MOTOR SHOW have so far stated that they are also enthusiastic about the exciting and varied theme world of TECHNO-CLASSICA ESSEN.
This concept also receives full support from Oliver P. Kuhrt, the Managing Director of Messe Essen GmbH: “We very much regret that TECHNO- CLASSICA ESSEN cannot take place this summer due to the given framework conditions,” he says and adds in the outlook for the extended programme: “All the more reason for us to look forward to the Classic & Prestige Salon at the ESSEN MOTOR SHOW at the end of the year where the fans of classic cars will once again get their money’s worth.
