Modern sports cars, supercars and hypercars have set the tone in the collector car market in 2026. It seems no price is too high—provided the vehicle in question is limited-production, has ultra-low miles and is painted in a rare color. Broad Arrow’s auction on Friday concluded with five out of six modern supercar offerings selling for records and accounting for nearly one-third of the auction’s total sales volume.

The Gulf Blue Porsche Carrera GT’s price of $6.7M is a record, and while unique color Carrera GTs have often sold at a premium, the market for these has accelerated in the past year. It is also a 2026 Hagerty Bull Market pick.
- Modern sports cars, supercars, and hypercars were the stars at the auctions as blue-chip vehicles continued to sell for strong prices.
- Broad Arrow closed out Friday night with six supercars, five of which set new records.
- Blue-chip collectibles sold well—the 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider was the top sale at $16.5M, and the 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV set a record at $6.7M.
- Total sales for the March Classic Auctions (including Broad Arrow Amelia Island, Gooding Christie’s Amelia Island, and RM Sotheby’s Miami) set a record at $255.9M—exceeding the prior best of $195.1M from last year.

Looking past the bright colors and many zeros, cars in excellent condition or those with excellent provenance also sold well. Blue-chip cars such as the 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider at $16.5M and the 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV at $6.7M sold well, with the latter setting a record for the model despite less-than-perfect condition. Million-dollar cars (based on their low estimate) achieved a 90% sell-through rate.
Amelia is traditionally a Porsche-heavy market, and 67 were offered over the weekend between the two auctions. Despite an abundance of Porsche fans at Amelia, the median condition-appropriate premium was just 1%. Aside from making the Hagerty Price Guide look very accurate, the difference changes from a discount for 356s and pre-1974 911s to a premium for impact bumper 911s and 930s (1974-1989), 964-993 (1990-98) cars, 997-991 (2005-19) cars, and the 959/Carrera GT/918 Spyder halo models.

While the major auction events move towards smaller single-auction company sales for the next several months, we will be watching both the private and auction market in the meantime and reporting on any interesting developments.
