The second edition of the 24-hour race in 1965 at Spa-Francorchamps for touring cars was only open to cars of up to 2.5 litres which ruled out the faster Jaguars and Ford Mustangs. It was thus mainly BMW 1800 TISAs against Alfa Romeo Giulias.

Hubert Hahne and Willy Mairesse (5) led for many hours before they were disqualified when their starter motor refused to work after a pit stop. After that, the Pascal Ickx/Gérald Langlois van Ophem BMW won having covered 3,813 kms.
