Entries are open to come to the Algarve Classic Festival and join the very best of historic motor sport in end of season sunshine (on 29-31 October), Portugal.

0183beb1 2d7f 4d67 913c 53c3f08ea744The ‘GT & Sports Car Cup’ is a 2-driver endurance race series for Pre-63 Sports cars, such as Lotus 11s & 15s, Lola Mk 1s, Elvas & Listers to name a few, as well as Pre-66 GT cars, AC Cobras, E-Types, Shelby Mustang GT 350s, MG Bs, Austin Healeys, TVR Granturas, Triumph TR4s, Lotus Elites & Elans, cars of a type that raced in the World Endurance Championship in period.

This world-class F1 circuit is the perfect setting for the final round of the season. Beachside hotel accommodation and VIP Driver hospitality in a dedicated Driver’s Lounge overlooking the start/finish straight of this mythical circuit are all included within the GT & Sports Car Cup entry fee.

Provisional Timetable

GTSCC Free Practice – Friday 29th October, 11am
GTSCC Qualifying – Saturday 30th October, 10am
GTSCC 2-Hr Race – Sunday 30th October, 9.20am

For the drivers at the Algarve classic festival

All races require a minimum of two drivers. The owner of the car must drive for at least 50% of the racing time at each event. If the owner would like to drive on his/her own, or does not wish to drive his/her own car at all, this must have been discussed and accepted by the Organizers prior to the event.

Driver change-over must take place between the 20th and 40th minute of a 60-minute race. Driver change-over must take place between the 20th and 45th minute of a 65-minute race. During a 120-minute race, no single driver may stay behind the wheel for over 50 minutes at a time.

A driver competing on his/her own will also have to respect these stops and remain stationary for one minute during each stop. In the event of a double stint, a driver will have to stop and remain stationary for one minute during his/her pit stop.
It is permitted to have three drivers sharing a car during a two-stop race, in which case the owner of the car will have to drive for a minimum of 33% of the racing time.
Disrespect of the regulations may result in a penalty of between 10 seconds and 5 minutes and/or of 1 to 3 laps. It may also result in an exclusion.

Classes

GT1: Period E GT cars (1947 – 1961) up to 2-litre
GT2: Period F GT cars (1962 – 1965) up to 2-litre
GT3: Period E GT cars (1947 – 1961) over 2-litre
Period F GT cars (1962 – 1965) from 2-litre to 3.5-litre
GT4: Period F GT cars (1962 – 1965) over 3.5-litre
SP1: Pre-63 Sports-cars under 2-litre (up to 1500 cc for Coventry Climax engines)
SP2: Pre-63 Sports-cars over 2-litre (over 1500 cc for Coventry Climax engines)
The Organizers reserve the right of moving any car from one class to another.
