At the start of the 1965 1000 km race at the Nürburgring, sixty-four drivers sprinted to their cars. The last of them was Mario Cabral.

He and his co-driver Teodore Zeccoli had technical problems with their Iso Grifo A3C Chevrolet (18) in practice and were thus unable to set a lap time and had to start as last. They did not get far in the race either and had to park the Iso Grifo after just five laps with suspension damage.
