In early March, HK- Engineering received a special invitation to attend the Goodwood Members’ Meeting. They were happy to accept Lord March’s invitation and went to the starting line with their race-prepared Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing. They also brought along another freshly restored coupé, finished in its original linden green color.
The Members’ Meeting is considered the more intimate version of the Revival – featuring nearly as many races, but with a significantly smaller crowd.
Over the course of the two race days, there was no shortage of action, and the weather turned out to be surprisingly pleasant – something no one had expected.
Hans Kleissl drove the racing car, but had little chance of placing well, as the race featured almost exclusively high-performance vehicles from the 1960s – including fast Jaguar E-Types, Ferrari 250 SWBs, Cobras, and other racing legends of the era.
Nonetheless, the car was once again a crowd favorite and even found itself in a particularly tense moment on the track, which led to repeated appearances on all the big screens around the venue and on social media.
Hk-Engineering is already looking forward to return for the Goodwood Revival in September.
