It’s not all about the cars at the Goodwood Revival, in fact much of what makes this event such a joy to attend is the frivolity that surrounds them. Sustainability has become the foundation upon which the Revival stands, and all of the team at Goodwood have embraced the ethos of Revive & Thrive.
Even for those of us who love nothing more than to soak up every drop of the historic motorsport taking place on the Motor Circuit, there is a growing appreciation that what we love will not last forever, so we need to find new ways to ensure we can continue to enjoy these cars long into the future.
And it’s for that reason that we can learn an awful lot from what’s going on elsewhere at the Revival. Their adoption of initiatives centred around sustainability, and a quest to rethink, repair and re-wear, in the case of vintage clothes, can be embraced by the wider world, including the realms of historic motorsport.
It’s well worth taking some time during your day here at the Revival to explore the many sights and sounds of the Revive & Thrive Village, where enthusiasts and experts are showcasing their efforts to make the most of clothing that is built to last, while also recycling tired old garments giving them new life, creating a virtuous circle of sustainability that can help to reduce our reliance on the manufacture of brand-new clothes.
There are opportunities to get hands on with your own creations, or you can sit back and watch the artists at work. It’s an eye-opening look at how the Revival mindset can extend further than just a single weekend at Goodwood, you really can take these ideas and embrace them in other walks of life.

Rest assured, Goodwood will continue to Revive & Thrive for many years to come.
