History: Porsche Kardex shows delivery new to Hoffman, New York on 12/31/1957. A USA model with over rider bumpers. Owned for many years by Mike Springer, long time PCA Orange Coast Region president. Then selling in 2002 to Paul Haven of Long Beach, California. Restored and serviced by Bill Perrone of the Parts Shop in Huntington Beach. A superb example of a great California car. This was a no-expense spared bare shell restoration by long time Porsche 356 experts.

Condition: Discovered as a very original vin number stamped body shell and floors in 1998. Then restored by Bill Perrone and Jim Ansite of The Parts Shop in Huntington Beach, California. The engine was rebuilt by Joe Stonkas of Laws Vegas, Nevada. The transaxle was was rebuilt by Cooper Automotive in Huntington Beach, California with gear ratios BBBC.

The brakes were upgraded to ventilated discs all around. Porsche 5.5” wheels were installed with wider tires. (to convert this back to drums can be done quite easily). In addition, a complete suspension overhaul, new Koni shocks, and steering dampener. A new YNZ wiring harness with all new electricals. Radio mounted under the dash in original Porsche housing. Fuel tank date stamped 11/57.

Vin# date stamps on the doors, engine lid and front hood. Correct original bumpers with over riders. All chrome done by Christianson’s plating. Complete leather interior by Auto’s International. A Derrington wood steering wheel with custom matching shift knob. 356 Carrera instruments reconditioned by Hollywood Speedometer. All original switches and knobs. Has soft top, side curtains, boot, and tonneau cover. There is an original jack and a very nice reproduction tool kit. All receipts for the work done.

Of Note: This is a T2 speedster with a sound original body shell. That is the most important part of any 356. It has had an engine change some 30 years ago and been upgraded to disc brakes, but this work was done by some of the best in the business. It has been properly restored by experts and serviced regularly ever since.

It still looks stunning. With the number of owners enjoying their cars on historic rallies and events this would be the perfect candidate. It has more power, better brakes and looks the part. Some people pay a fortune for an Outlaw. This is a sleeper looking stock but having that added performance and it is fairly priced. It has just had a major service and is ready to go.
