Erik Maris’ 2002 Audi R8 LMP n°3. The perfect prototype, always victorious, or almost …

The Audi R8 LMP is a Le Mans Prototype car introduced in 2000. It is one of the most successful racing sports cars built ever! The Audi R8 LMP has become a legendary model as its successes have grown, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005 – five of the six years it has competed. This superb run of 24 Hours of Le Mans victories was only broken in 2003 by the Bentley Speed 8, another race car entered that year by the Volkswagen Group.

Toni Seilers´1964 Ford Falcon Sprint n°246. The underdog with the big arms, a bit unloved…

The “Sprint“ was a 1964 Ford Falcon trim that gave the car the Fairlane 260 V8 Ford, stiffer suspension and a louder exhaust. In order to build a high-performance image for the Falcon Sprint, Ford sponsored three teams to compete in the 1963 and 1964 Monte Carlo Rally where they came one-two in their class and were the only ones, again in their class, to finish the rally. One also remembers the memorable and astonishing on-track battles that the American Falcons and other big V8s waged against the small Mini and Lotus Cortina in the British Touring Championship.

Romain Rocher’s 1979 Porsche 935 n°68. The 935, a “must have” for Porsche enthusiasts

The 935 is based on the type 930 911 Turbo in the Porsche range. It has the same central cell and the same engine base. The aluminium engine, after preparation, increases the turbo pressure to 1.5 bar, the connecting rods being made of titanium. The engine is coupled to a 4-speed mechanical gearbox instead of a 5 speed one, the torque finally proving too important. The bodywork of the 935 is reminiscent of the 911 only in the middle section. The rear is elongated while the nose is flattened by passing the headlights from the bonnet to the bumpers. The car shown in the picture is one of seven 935s built in 1979 and entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans by the Interscope Racing team.
