Known for its’ epic LeMans racing battle in the mid 60s with Ferrari, the GT40 was Ford’s answer to Ferrari. The GT40 dominated LeMans in 1966, 67, 68 and 1969 with wins in all four years. The GT40 is the only American made car to ever win the race. In 2010, Matech GT Racing of Geneva, Switzerland fielded another run at the LeMans 24-hour race with the GT1 LeMans racing version; An aggressive derivative of the GT with a wider stance, fully carbon fiber body and racing aerodynamic enhancements. The GT1 was unmistakably bread for performance.
