Salon Privé Unveils Two New Concours Classes

2026 line-up reflects shifting collector culture with new modern supercar and hypercar classes.

Salon Privé Unveils Two New Concours Classes

Salon Privé, the UK’s most prestigious luxury automotive event, has introduced two new Concours Classes for 2026, recognising the growing significance of modern supercars and hypercars within global car collecting.

Returning to the grounds of Blenheim Palace on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd September, this year’s Salon Privé Concours by Aviva Private Clients will debut the Limited Production Supercars (1996–2026) and Hypercar Heaven (2005–2025) Classes, celebrating some of the most influential performance cars of the last 30 years.

The new categories recognise the growing appetite among collectors for modern performance cars that have already established themselves as landmarks of automotive design and engineering.

Traditionally, Concours lawns have been dominated by pre- and post-war masterpieces, coach-built rarities and historic competition cars. Increasingly, however, collectors are turning their attention to the supercars and hypercars that defined the late 1990s, 2000s and 2010s, with many now being hailed as hugely desirable assets.

Attention has focused on models from renowned OEMs including Bugatti, Ferrari and Lamborghini, alongside smaller manufacturers Rimac, Pagani and Mosler — with many regarding these, and more, as future classics whose influence extends far beyond outright performance.

“The collector car world has evolved with each generation and so naturally many of the cars that defined the turn of the millennium are now being recognised for their wider significance, not just their performance. These cars are ones that fundamentally changed the direction of automotive design and engineering, and they’re increasingly becoming some of the most sought-after vehicles in the collector market.

“The Salon Privé Concours has always celebrated the very best cars of their era, so by adding two new classes we are acknowledging that some of the most important collector cars of the future are already among us.”

— Andrew Bagley, Chairman and Co-Founder, Salon Privé Concours

Salon Privé’s Limited Production Supercars Class will celebrate rare and influential road cars produced between 1996 and 2026, spanning everything from analogue driver-focused vehicles to the latest generation of limited-run, often bespoke, performance cars.

Among the first entries already confirmed is an exquisite example from Ferrari Challenge driver and collector Paul Hogarth with his Ferrari Daytona SP3, while event organisers expect other Class entries might include the Maserati MC20, Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari Enzo, McLaren F1, Bugatti Veyron and Koenigsegg One:1.

The second new Class, named Hypercar Heaven, will bring together some of the most ambitious road cars ever created, celebrating vehicles that rewrote the performance rulebook between 2005 and 2025.

Among the first entries already confirmed is the Pagani Utopia Roadster and a Lamborghini Sián Prototype. The class is also expected to draw multiple celebrated hypercars of the modern era, such as the McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari, Bugatti Veyron, Pagani Zonda, Rimac Nevera and Koenigsegg Jesko.

“There seems to be a real change in what collectors are passionate about today. Cars like the Pagani Utopia and SP3 are no longer just high-performance machines, they’ve become milestones in automotive history. Many were built in tiny numbers, introduced technology that changed the industry and captured the imagination of enthusiasts around the world. For me, they’re every bit as fascinating and significant as the classics traditionally seen on Concours lawns.

“It’s amazing to see Salon Privé recognising that the story of the collector car didn’t stop in the 1960s or 70s. Some of the most important cars ever built have arrived in the last 30 years and I’m looking forward to being part of the competition and seeing modern supercars and hypercars celebrated at Blenheim in the same way as earlier automotive icons.”

— Paul Hogarth

Salon Privé’s decision to add these new classes follows in the footsteps of Marbella’s Concurso de Elegancia Costa del Sol, which introduced a modern hypercar class for 2025.

“Across the Concours world, we’re seeing increasing interest in modern collector cars from both established enthusiasts and a new generation of owners. The definition of what constitutes a Concours car is expanding, reflecting the changing tastes and experiences of collectors. Modern supercars and hypercars are becoming an important part of that conversation.”

— Gregor Piëch, Founder, Concurso de Elegancia Costa del Sol

Last year’s Best of Show at Salon Privé was scooped by The Auriga Collection’s 1936 Mercedes-Benz 500 K Spezial Roadster by Sindelfingen. Fending off competition from 60 cars, from 13 countries, the car is one of only 12 examples ever built and remains one of the most desirable and valuable classic cars, embodying Mercedes-Benz’s legacy of innovation, craftsmanship and timeless beauty.

The 2025 five-day event, which also featured Salon Privé’s unique Concours de Vente, was attended by over 28,000 guests, while this year organisers anticipate 2026 visitor numbers to grow to well over 30,000.
