The latest in a long and noble bloodline of mid-engined V8 berlinettas, the Ferrari F8 Tributo is the new mid-rear-engined sports car that represents the highest expression of the Prancing Horse’s classic two-seaters. It is a car with unique characteristics and, as its name implies, is an homage to the most powerful V8 in Ferrari history by Amalgam Collection.
A self-professed tribute to the most powerful V8 engine ever, the F8 Tributo is a celebration of Ferrari’s own excellence. The V8 itself, the latest iteration of four-time consecutive Engine of the Year award winner, boasts 710 bhp and a record specific power output of 182 bhp/l. This is the most powerful V8 ever to be mounted in a non-special series Ferrari, achieving new heights not just for turbos, but for engines across the board.
The increase in performance is provided in a more reactive way thanks to lightening solutions on the rotating masses, such as the F1 derived titanium connecting rods. Specific intake plenums and manifolds with optimised fluid-dynamics improve the combustion efficiency of the engine, thanks to the reduction of the temperature of the air in the cylinder, which also helps boost power.
The exciting performance of this engine is delivered in the total absence of turbo lag, a unique feature of Ferrari engines. The F8 Tributo also uses turbo rev sensors, developed in the 488 Challenge, to maximise the efficiency of the turbochargers based on the demand for power from the pedal. The exhaust layout and the Inconel manifolds have been completely modified up to the terminals, with the aim of delivering a unique and dedicated sound for this car. The result is an engine with an unmistakable note, improved both in terms of intensity and sound quality.
The new rear screen celebrates Ferrari’s legendary V8 engine. Made from ultralight Lexan®, it has been restyled to incorporate three louvres at it centre and showcase the engine compartment, bringing a modern twist to the most distinctive design element from Ferrari’s most famous V8-engined car, the F40. The louvres also help extract hot air from the engine compartment, in line with Ferrari’s focus on functional design.
The F8 Tributo features state-of-the-art aerodynamics, integrating innovations and expertise developed thanks to the company’s involvement in the GT and Challenge championships. The solutions have been honed to create a series-production mid-rear-engined berlinetta with the highest level of performance available. The S-duct, which first appeared on the Pista, tidies up the airflow and increases downforce on the front axle, there are brake cooling intakes at the top of the headlight apertures, the blown rear spoiler has been reworked and its turning vanes increase downforce without adding drag, and the underbody now features vortex generators. The car’s rear spoiler has been also entirely redesigned. It is now larger and wraps around the tail lights, visually lowering the car’s centre of gravity and allowing a return to the classic twin light cluster and body-coloured tail, another signature of the early 8-cylinder berlinettas like the very first in the legendary series, the 308 GTB.
This fine 1:8 scale model of the Ferrari F8 Tributo has been handcrafted and finished in our workshops using CAD directly from Ferrari’s design office allowing us to perfectly recreate every detail at scale. Finally, the prototype model has undergone detailed scrutiny by Ferrari’s engineering and design teams to ensure complete accuracy of representation
