Ascott Collection is proud to present a selection of truly outstanding cars at Retromobile. The spotlight this time, on the Retromobile stand, is on the year 1998: The very rare NISSAN R390 GT1 of 1998 will be presented for the first time since its return to Europe
At the end of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, it joined the prestigious collection of the manufacturer NISSAN in Japan. It is a huge privilege for Ascott Collection to be able to exhibit this rarest of all GT1s at Retromobile.
The Chrysler VIPER GTS/R C9, the World Champion GT2 car in 1998, which helped to create the VIPER legend, will be offered for sale. Having achieved a one-two at Le Mans in 1998 in the GT2 class with the works team, it was then entered at Le Mans in 1999 by the Belmondo Team in its Play Station livery, and at the 24 hours of Spa in 2002 and 2003.
The Porsche 910 027, whose history is undisputed and fully documented, is also on display at Retromobile for the first time. It has been part of the collection of its current owner for 25 years. With only 28 copies of the PORSCHE 910 Coupé being produced by the factory, it is very rare to be able to acquire such an authentic PORSCHE 910, with such a noteworthy track record.
A 1967 BIZZARINI 5300 GT Berlinetta Strada Aluminum, a car of fond memory for collectors, will be returning to visibility. After 25 years ownership by the great Ferrari collector Jean-Claude BAJOL, this BIZZARINI with chassis number A3*0281 was acquired by its current owner in 2012. A restoration of more than 2000 hours has, in particular, enabled this car with its outstanding pedigree (with only three owners) to reappear in its original livery.
Lastly, the 1972 SURTEES TS9B (Chassis TS9-05) which was owned by John Surtees himself until 1999 and was driven by him in 1971 and by Mike Hailwood in 1972, is ready to race at the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique 2020, for which it is already entered.
Ascott Collection wishes you a pleasant visit and is looking forward to the chance of meeting you to discuss our shared passion: Stand Hall 1 M027
