In 1969 the top model of the Porsche 911 series remained the S with the six-cylinder boxer engine with an increased displacement of 2.2 litres and an output of 180 hp. A manual 5-speed gearbox was already available at that time for an additional charge. With this engine the Porsche 911S 2.2 achieved impressive performance for its time. The top speed more than 225 km/h and the accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in only 8.0 seconds.
In the 1970 model year, 1744 examples of the 911S Coupé were produced.
This Porsche 911S 2.2 was delivered in 1970 and was completely restored a few years ago under the direction of its current owner on the bare bodyshell. The vehicle is in excellent and visually “as new” condition. Since restoration the car has only been driven in for approx. 800 kilometres. An extensive photo documentation of the restoration is available.
