The Whale Tail Project is a porsche-related artwork paying tribute to Porsche racing history.
Johans Lamic, the creator, reinterprets the iconic 930 turbo spoiler by reworking its shape and painting it in the most legendary racing liveries. He only uses original Porsche parts and colors to create his art pieces, so each Whale Tail comes with its own 30-40-years of road trip memories. The idea behind the drops is reminiscent of the original aerodynamical function of the object. As air is a liquid, the drops symbolize fluidity and speed. The project is limited to 9 series of 11 pieces each, which makes it very exclusive collector´s items.

Now based in Palma de Mallorca, Johans Lamic was born in Paris in 1979. His parents are from the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe. Johans played professional basketball while studying for a law degree (political science and international relations).
He was the sales and marketing director for an electronics company prior to training as a commercial airline pilot. He is now a Captain for a major European carrier. His interests include art, design, architecture and travel but above all he is a petrol head.
His work is a fusion of his passions and experiences, combining multiple techniques. Johans takes pride in creating pieces that are not only aesthetically pleasing with the highest attention to detail but are also to specifications that are historically correct.
His passion for cars was ignited at a young age when his father owned a bottle green Peugeot 504 convertible, a stunning design by Pininfarina. It was followed by a keen interest in motorsports including F1, WRC and DTM, visiting motor museums and numerous road trips on different continents on both two wheels and four.
