Twenty 300 SL vehicles were participating at this year’s HK Engineering Rally from July 16-19. Some drivers even came with other cars and Hans Kleissl was very proud that his friends from the Kompressor Club joined with a Mercedes Simplex and a Mercedes SSK.
The starting point was the restaurant in the old brick factory (Alte Ziegelei) in Polling on Thursday evening. The next day the tour was leading to Oberammergau and from there to Tyrol where the participants visited the Castle Ehrenberg. In the evening the wonderful Hotel Via Salina at the Haldensee near Reutte was the night stop. The next day included a scenic tour to the Hahntenjoch and to Kühtai along many other beautiful spots. On Sunday morning the group went back to Polling. The rally lovers again had a great time together, although the weather was a bit cloudy. HK Engineering and Hans Kleissl are already looking forward to the next years rally and they were very happy that the long prepared tour could take place in these difficult Corona times.
