There is something compelling about the idea of preserving the past—not by restoring it, but by pushing it far beyond what was originally possible. The Gunther Werks F26 embodies exactly that philosophy, asking a familiar question in a more radical way: what if the air-cooled Porsche 993 had continued to evolve without compromise?

Rather than simply refining an icon, Gunther Werks reimagines it entirely. The F26 Program takes the classic 993 platform and transforms it into its most extreme expression yet, combining heritage with modern engineering and bespoke craftsmanship. Its design pays tribute to the legendary 930 Flachbau and the racing-bred 935, while every surface is shaped with performance in mind.
At its core lies a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter flat-six engine, co-developed with Rothsport Racing. Delivering an extraordinary 1,000 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque, it channels its power exclusively to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission—an intentional nod to analog driving purity in an increasingly digital world.

But the F26 is not defined by power alone. Its lightweight construction—crafted almost entirely from carbon fiber—results in a curb weight of approximately 2,750 pounds, creating a striking power-to-weight ratio. The chassis has been extensively reinforced and reengineered, incorporating advanced suspension systems and motorsport-derived components to ensure that the car remains composed under its immense performance.
Visually, the car balances aggression with purpose. Fixed headlights, sculpted ducts, and integrated aerodynamic elements are not merely stylistic choices, but functional solutions designed to enhance airflow, cooling, and downforce. The result is a machine that feels equally at home on a racetrack as it does on the road.
Inside, the same philosophy continues. Carbon fiber, leather, and Alcantara define a cabin that merges craftsmanship with performance intent. Every detail is configurable, reinforcing the idea that each F26 is not just built, but individually commissioned.

Production is limited to just 26 examples worldwide—a number that defines both its name and its rarity. Each car is tailored to its owner, ensuring that no two examples are alike and that exclusivity remains at the heart of the program.
In the end, the F26 is less about revisiting the past and more about redefining it. It stands as a reminder that even the most iconic machines can be pushed further—into territory their original creators may never have imagined.
