Postcards From The Monaco Historic Grand Prix

It’s every bit as prestigious as the Monaco F1 Grand Prix, but since it’s held just every two years, it’s even more exclusive. The Monaco Historic Grand Prix brings back the sound of glorious DFV and Maserati engines screaming around the Mediterranean port.

Postcards From The Monaco Historic Grand Prix

It’s something you need to have experienced in your lifetime, especially if you weren’t around in the eighties, let alone the fifties. With modern day F1s sounding like a vacuum cleaner, there is nothing like a twelve-cylinder Ferrari clearing its throat as it powers up the hill towards Casino.

Newey’s shuffle

The appeal of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, as it’s officially called, is clear for all. Even for people like Adrian Newey, who came to enjoy his Lotus 49B and made one of the overtaking moves of the year. Who says you can’t pass in Monaco?

Carlo Senten was behind the barriers all weekend long and sent us these pictures, or rather, postcards. Please enjoy.
