For the latest installment in Todd Snyder’s long-running collaboration with Timex, he went into the archives and back in time—to the 1970s, to a moment when quartz technology was new.
The exclusive Blackout keeps many of the iconic features of Timex’s original Q series—a rotating bezel, functional battery hatch, day-date feature, luminant hands, domed acrylic crystal—then adds a minimalist, monochromatic twist with the black dial and a stainless steel band.
In short, the perfect holiday (self) gift. It’s water resistant to 50 meters. “I’ve always loved the Q series. They’re beautiful mid-century watches that date back to a time when quartz technology was changing the industry. And I wanted to design one that was a slightly more minimalist with a little bit of attitude, one that could work as both a dress watch and an off-duty one,” says Todd.
