History: Eric Broady’s Lola Cars was founded in Bromley, England in 1958. It was well known early on for its Mark 1 sports racing cars, formula juniors, and 1.5-liter formula one cars. Later successes came with the T10 Spider and Coupe, many 2-liter sports prototypes and the winning Indy cars. The front engined Mark 1sports racing car was the first Lola built and was a race winning design. Winning throughout England and in the USA in SCCA races. Just over 30 cars were built.
The best book on the Lola Mark 1 is by David Pratley, which has chassis history. This car, listed as L-3 in Pratley’s book as “A partially disassembled car was allegedly discovered in a barn on the outskirts of Mexico City in 1993. Bought by Harvey Siegel (NewYork, USA).”. Restored and then raced in the USA historic races from 1994-2021. Last raced at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion in 2018.
Condition: In very good race condition under the care of Vintage Racing Motors in Redmond, Washington from 2007 to present. Detailed race prep records showing constant upkeep, track testing, uprights, suspension rebuilds, engine and gearbox rebuilds, etc.
