With the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0, powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, Michael Roock and Uwe Alzen won the GTS class in Plateau 6 of the Le Mans Classic 2018. Already in 2016, the two were successful at the same place repeating their class victory.
Uwe Alzen and Michael Roock share a long history together. At the beginning of the 1990s, Betzdorfer started his career with the Leverkusen-based racing team and won the Porsche Supercup in 1994. Le Mans is also well-known to the Green Hell specialist – in 1998, he finished second in the Porsche 911 GT1. The Porsche 911 Carrera RSR, of which only 52 units were built, first started in 1976 at the Circuit de la Sarthe with Clemens Schickentanz behind the wheel. With the 911, Schickentanz also secured the 3rd place in 1974 in the European Championship for GT vehicles.
