Madison’s Auctions is excited to bring you their current auction of Automotive Art and Automobilia highlighting two private collections amassed over many years.
The first collection highlights the Le Mans endurance race in France once a year and the movie it spawned in 1971 staring legendary Hollywood actor Steve McQueen. Some of the most sought after event posters from the race from the 1970’s through the 1980’s are featured in the sale along with many other great collectables from the event.
Regarding the film collectable’s there are many one of kind unique collectables from the personal collections of the visual designer, and the race secretary of the film, as well as many item from Steve McQueen himself via his widow. Also featured in the auction is a extensive one owner collection of Porsche 917 material amassed over the last several years by an astute and passionate collector.
Highlights include a complete never used set of life size stickers for the L & M Porsche 917 complete with Mark Donahue’s name sticker for the side of the car. Also included is the only copy ever made of Mark Donahue’s set up book for the Sunoco 917 which was given to his co-driver. Many other rare and exceptional items of automotive art and automobilia are featured in the auction.
