Alpenglow Hy4 is the evolution of a stunning concept car to a dynamic demonstration of intent. This advanced new hydrogen powered prototype opens the road for an exhilarating new chapter in sports cars and motorsport.
Design
Alpenglow takes its name from a beautiful natural phenomenon. From front to rear, its carbon bodywork is carved for the racetrack. Aerodynamic new alloy wheels and magenta accents mark out Alpine’s ‘feel at one’ cockpit.
Alpenglow at the forefront of innovation
Alpenglow was designed with both the open road and racetrack in mind. It is a concept car that embodies the design hallmarks of the brand’s upcoming motorsports and production models, as well as its long-term commitment to sustainability.
The future of Alpine begins with Alpenglow
Alpenglow foreshadows Alpine’s future competition and road cars, as well as those models that will make up its dream garage. A bold gesture that lays the solid foundations for the brand to take on a new dynamic. Shaped around the cockpit with particular attention paid to the aerodynamics, the design narrative runs from the inside to the outside and evoking a perfect fusion of driver and car.
The choice of colours and materials is reminiscent of natural elements such as fire, water, ice, wind, and water vapour. But the eye is also drawn from front to back, as the Alpenglow merges from a bright red to varying shades of blue, from light to dark. The lighting signature illustrates the different stages of the internal combustion hydrogen motor, thanks to which the Alpenglow emits only water vapour. The two polymer pontoon fuel tanks located either side of the cockpit form a water drop, placing the pilot at the heart of the machine.
Power
At its heart is a 4-cylinder internal combustion engine sending 340hp to the rear wheels via a 7-speed transmission. Competition-proven design ensures Alpenglow Hy4 can support high cylinder pressures for hydrogen combustion.
