All‑Mustang Ken Miles Cup To Rumble At 81MM

A new challenge for just Ford Mustangs has been announced as the first race revealed for the upcoming 81st Goodwood Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport in April 2024. Named the Ken Miles Cup after the legendary racer, engineer and mechanic.

Over the years at the revived Goodwood Members’ Meetings the Ford Mustang has played an integral part, from the mighty BOSS Mustangs that form part of the Gordon Spice Trophy, to those that have battled in our all-American V8 Pierpoint Cup.

Now Goodwood celebrates 60 years since the launch of the Mustang by racing up to 30 Pony Cars for 45 minutes on the famous Goodwood Motor Circuit. As one of their regular two-driver challenges the cars will be driven by some of the best drivers from the world of F1, Sportscars and more.

The race’s name, the Ken Miles Cup, pays tribute to the man who was at the very heart of development for some of Ford’s most iconic cars. Working alongside Carroll Shelby, Miles helped to ignite Ford’s stuttering GT40 campaign, leading to the famous victories at Le Mans in 1966, ‘67, ‘68 and ‘69. His involvement in the GT40 programme would go on to be immortalised in the film Ford vs Ferrari starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale.

Alongside his work on the GT40, Miles also helped to develop the Shelby GT350R Mustang, a highly-tuned version of Ford’s coupe that would go down in history. That car helped to cement Shelby’s legacy for creating the ultimate Fords and the two brands have been synonymous ever since.

The Ken Miles Cup will join a full weekend of races and demos, with more to be announced in the coming months. In 2023 the 80th Members’ Meeting saw demos for stunning GT1 cars of the 2000s, racing Porsche 911s and the Brabham BT52.

There was also the world debut of the Gordon Murray Automotive T.33 Spider and Bentley Continental GT Le Mans Collection. Past Members’ Meetings have also seen new supercars make their debuts, including the McLaren Senna GTR, and GMA T.50.

The 81st Members’ Meeting will take place on 13th and 14th April 2024. Tickets are on sale now to Members of the GRRC and will go on sale to Fellows on 31st August.

The only way to see the Ken Miles Cup and all the other racing at 81MM is to join the GRRC, click here for more information or to join.
