Rally the Globe Driving Adventures For 2026 & 2027

Rally the Globe is keeping its foot firmly on the accelerator with a packed line-up of epic driving adventures for 2026 and 2027. Over the next 24 months, members of the award-winning not-for-profit club can look forward to an inspiring mix of much-loved favourites and exciting new escapades – including an extraordinary journey through America’s lesser-known heartlands.

Kicking off in mid-October 2027, the remarkable 28 States Marathon will see intrepid participants in classic and vintage cars travel from Boston, Massachusetts, to historic Savannah, Georgia.

This once-in-a-lifetime 7,000-mile adventure interspersed with great competitive sections on asphalt and gravel will sweep through Vermont’s breath-taking autumn colours, across the iconic Rust Belt, around all five Great Lakes, and into Detroit – the legendary ‘Motor City’.

From there, the route heads north through Michigan’s forests, before turning south toward Indianapolis, the self-proclaimed World Capital of Racing. Crews will then explore the music meccas of New Orleans and Nashville, before reaching the Atlantic coast for a warm southern welcome. In just 28 unforgettable days, competitors will have experienced the diverse cultures and landscapes of 28 U.S. states.

“After the unqualified success of our Alaska to Mexico Marathon on the west coast of America, the same team was determined to find another equally enticing journey through the less often visited parts of the US – and this certainly is that,” confirmed Fred Gallagher, Rally the Globe’s experienced Rally Director who is masterminding this automotive delight.

4bac0c4b a257 7277 9e3a dc80f4f225e1“It will be an incredible travelogue taking crews to really interesting places they wouldn’t normally think of going,” continued Fred. “We will clearly have  a theme of cars and music with big ticket cities such as Indianapolis, New Orleans and Nashville but so many great contrasts. For example one night we’ll be in Pigeon Forge in Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains and home of Dolly Parton’s unique Dollywood theme park and the next in the rather more classy surroundings of Augusta, Georgia, home of the world famous Masters Golf Tournament. It’s going to be an ultra-fascinating four weeks that’s for sure!”

The sensational 28 States Marathon is the jewel in a busy 2027 calendar for Rally the Globe. The five-event season features two perennial favourites that always attract a full capacity entry: the Generations Rally in March and the Vintage Shamrock now moving to early September.

Between these two, participants can enjoy a UK-based Cloverleaf rally, plus the next edition of Rally the Globe’s renowned Carrera-style events. In May, Carrera Toscana will take entrants through Tuscany’s rolling hills, vineyards, Renaissance treasures, rich history, and culinary delights — all under the region’s spring sunshine. With its irresistible mix of scenery and culture, it promises to be an instant classic.

Looking to 2026, Rally the Globe has already confirmed another stellar line-up. By popular demand, both the Generations Rally (already full with a reserve list in operation) and Vintage Shamrock return, alongside two eagerly awaited European adventures.

The first is the Nordic Challenge, a midsummer journey starting from Copenhagen and travelling via Sweden’s archipelago, Finland’s famous 1000 Lakes Rally stages, the cobbled streets of picturesque Trondheim and Norway’s spectacular fjords to the finish in Oslo. Entries have just opened for this Scandinavian special with an early booking discount for those entering before 20 October.

Later in the year comes Vintage El Clavel, Rally the Globe’s first pre-war-only event on mainland Europe. Taking place in September, the six-day rally will traverse the great driving roads of north-western Spain, starting in Oviedo’s historic city and finishing amid the natural beauty of Santander.

“We’ve announced our 2026 and 2027 calendars early to give participants plenty of time to plan,” explained Mark Appleton, Rally the Globe’s Chief Operating Officer. “There truly is something for everyone over the next couple of years. We have new settings for much-loved Generations Rallies and the ever-popular Vintage Shamrocks, plus some spectacular escapes in Europe’s most stunning regions. And, of course, anticipation is already building for the incredible 28 States Marathon — a mind-blowing adventure that will combine camaraderie, competition, and unforgettable driving.”

Before all that, Appleton and the Rally the Globe team will head east this month for the Islands of Japan Marathon — a memorable month-long journey across Japan’s four main islands, showcasing the highlights of one of the world’s most fascinating countries.
