Bonhams Bonmont Sale Revs-Up For Autumn

Bonhams, the international auction house, returns to the prestigious Bonmont Golf & Country Club in Chéserex, Switzerland for The Bonmont Sale on 20 September 2020, following last year’s successful debut sale, which featured a world record at auction for a Lamborghini.

The Sale has been moved from its original date of June 14 in light of the global situation regarding Covid-19 and will now be the first European Sale for Bonhams in the autumn, following the new Classic Days, Schloss Dyck Sale in Germany in August.

More than 70 of the world’s finest classic and collectors’ motor cars were offered in the landmark 2019 Bonmont auction, from 1930s sports tourers to 21st century hyper cars.

 

Highlights included

2014 Lamborghini Veneno

7 imageOne of only nine produced, the ultra-rare Lamborghini Veneno, was sold for a remarkable CHF 8,280,000, a world record auction price for the marque.


2011 Aston Martin One-77

4 image 6The 35th example of Aston Martin’s flagship carbon fibre and aluminium hypercar produced in a limited run of 77 realised CHF 1,552,500.


1993 Porsche 911 Type 964 Turbo S ‘Leichtbau’ Coupé

was sold for CHF 1,150,000.


1963 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 Series III Coupé

Originally delivered new to Basel, this matching numbers example of Ferrari’s first factory-produced four-seater ‘grand tourer’ sold for CHF 508,875.


1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster

The successor to the 300 SL coupe, this beautiful example sold for CHF 776,250.


1933 Aston Martin Le Mans 1 ½-litre Series II Tourer

One of only 17 long wheel-base Series II cars, previously owned by Greek shipping magnate Alexander Andreadis and extensively restored in 2013 by a Swiss specialist. Sold for CHF 287,500.

Entries to this sale for fine modern and classic collectors’ cars are being invited now.

The revised Bonhams Mainland Europe schedule for 2020 is as follows:

  • The Monaco Sale ‘Les Grandes Marques de Monaco’, Monte Carlo, 8 May – cancelled alongside the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique
  • Classic Days, Schloss Dyck, Germany, 1 August – as scheduled
  • The Bonmont Sale, Chéserex, Switzerland, 20 September – moved from 14 June
  • The Zoute Sale, Belgium, 9 October – as scheduled.
