An international clientele seeks out soft, comfortable, and functional garments, executed with a unique design aesthetic that merges modern detailing with a deep respect for traditional men’s dress.

Available on a bespoke and made-to-measure basis are coats, suits, jackets, trousers, khakis, jeans, and shirts, while unstructured pieces, shirts (including the signature extreme cutaway collar), and accessories are offered on a ready-to-wear basis.

The house style uniquely blends the softness of southern Italian clothing with the aesthetic, silhouette, and functionality of classic British tailoring. Shape is achieved through skillful cutting and precise sewing rather than padding and lining. Softness and comfort are ensured by using the lightest canvases and linings, sewn with a gentle and accurate hand, often with minimal or no shoulder pads.

This approach results in comfortable, almost weightless clothing suited to the modern gentleman. To arrange a bespoke or made-to-measure appointment, please contact via email at info@udeshi.co.uk.

The Maker

Oscar Udeshi was born in the former British colony of Hong Kong. He read economics and philosophy at the London School of Economics before embarking on a career as a banker.

Whilst working in the city, Oscar constantly searched for clothes that would make up his ideal wardrobe. Unable to find them, he had his clothes made to his designs and specification. Unhappy with the results, he learnt under one of the last remaining bespoke shirt makers on Jermyn Street and delved into the history of menswear, the evolution of pattern making and construction techniques.

He preferred making something physical with his hands, then editing spreadsheets and staring at Bloomberg screens all day. Oscar followed his passion and left banking and made it his profession in 1999.

In 2002, Oscar became the youngest menswear designer on the official calendar of the Federation de la Couture for Paris Men’s Fashion Week. At Pitti Uomo, Oscar was declared one of the rising stars in menswear. Subsequent fashion shows and collection presentations followed in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Florence, London, Tokyo, and Vienna.

He was also invited to design pieces for the 200th anniversary of the Entente Cordiale in Paris, numerous menswear collections and diplomatic gifts for the armed forces. Oscar was the sole fashion designer invited to exhibit cufflinks at the retrospective ‘On the Cuff’ at London’s Goldsmiths Hall in 2005.

In 2006 the first showroom opened in Mayfair, London. In 2008 he became the youngest elected chairman of the British Menswear Guild and in 2009 became a board member of the UK Textile and Fashion Association.
