Star Drivers At The 2024 Goodwood Revival

The 2024 Goodwood Revival is set to make history as motor racing gets underway, fully powered by sustainable fuels for the first time. It will also feature one of the most illustrious line-ups of drivers and riders ever seen on the Motor Circuit. With the current count, and more names still to be announced in the lead-up to the world’s greatest historic racing event, as many as 23 champions are expected to attend the Revival, making for three mesmerizing days at Goodwood.

Which F1 drivers are coming to the 2024 Revival?

There’s only one place to begin: the legendary Sir Jackie Stewart is expected to make another appearance at Goodwood, a year after his emotional reunion with the 1973 F1 world championship-winning Tyrrell 006. Although he’s not expected to climb into the cockpit this year, it is a tremendous honor to have him among us once again at the Revival.

He’ll be joined by 1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve, who will be brightening up the paddocks throughout the weekend and soaking up the Revival atmosphere.

Karun Chandhok meanwhile, has become a great friend of Goodwood in recent years, and the ex-Hispania and Team Lotus driver turned Sky F1 presenter will be busy out on the Motor Circuit once again at the Revival.

Another driver famous for his exploits at Goodwood is Max Chilton. After a career that saw him race in F1 and IndyCar, he has more recently excelled at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard as the Timed Shootout record holder with the McMurtry Spéirling.

Ex-Toro Rosso driver and two-time Formula E champion Jean-Eric Vergne will also be returning to Goodwood, as will Pedro de la Rosa, perhaps most famous for his remarkable second place at the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix while standing in at McLaren.

Three other legends, Derek Bell, Jochen Mass and David Brabham, who each found greater success at Le Mans, round up the F1 contingent.

How many Le Mans winners are coming to the 2024 Revival?

Bell, Mass, and Brabham are three of nine Le Mans-winning drivers already confirmed to be attending the 2024 Goodwood Revival. Bell’s five Le Mans 24 Hours triumphs place him in decent company with Emanuele Pirro, who’ll once again be in action on the Motor Circuit.

A Goodwood event wouldn’t be complete without the legendary nine-time winner Tom Kristensen, and it’s exciting to announce his return to the Revival. Joining him will be three-time Le Mans winners Rinaldo ‘Dindo’ Capello, Marcel Fässler, and Andre Lotterer.

Two-time winner, and 2024 Festival of Speed Timed Shootout winner Romain Dumas is also set to be in action, as is 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours winner Neel Jani.

Darren Turner, a three-time winner of the GT class with Aston Martin will be here, as will Nick Minassian, who has come oh-so close to Le Mans glory with a pair of podium finishes at the great event.

Which riders from the Isle of Man TT will be at the Revival?

The two-wheeled action at the Goodwood Revival is set to hit new heights in 2024. Historic motorcycle racing is always great to watch, with the bravery of the riders laid bare, but this year the amount of bravery on display is heading up a notch or two, not to mention the skill.

And no, he hasn’t been forgotten. Motorcycle racing legend Giacomo Agostini, who won 15 world championships and ten Isle of Man TT races, will once again grace the Revival with his presence.

Away from the Isle of Man, the list of riders coming to the Revival continues with  the 2011 WSBK champion Carlos Checa and three British Superbike Champions in Tommy Hill, Leon Haslam and Tommy Bridewell.

Any other legends of motorsport in action?

As if enough hasn’t already been mentioned, two absolute legends from the US will also be returning to the Goodwood Revival. Jimmie Johnson, who made a memorable debut on the Motor Circuit two years ago, will be back for another run in 2024. The seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion will be joined by Dario Franchitti, the four-time IndyCar Series champion and three-time Indy 500 winner, who is a frequent presence at Goodwood and will be laying down plenty of rubber over the three days.

Which touring car drivers are coming to the Revival?

An historic racing event with quite so many tin-top racers would be incomplete without many of the world’s greatest touring car drivers. The 2024 Revival features another stacked list of saloon car greats, with 11 championships between them.

Members’ Meeting House Captains and multiple-time touring car champions Andy Priaulx and Gordon Shedden will be rubbing doors with the likes of four-time British Touring Car Champion Colin Turkington and three-time BTCC champ Matt Neal. Shedden has established himself as one of the most successful drivers at the Goodwood Revival, having won the RAC TT Celebration on three occasions.

The 2022 BTCC champion and current 2024 standings leader Tom Ingram returns to the Revival, as do event regulars Andrew Jordan, Rob Huff and Jake Hill. Touring car legends of yesteryear Anthony Reid and Steve Soper will of course be showing the youngsters how it’s done once again.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg for the 2024 Goodwood Revival; the list of drivers you can expect to see in action is absolutely filled with gems like sportscar ace turned broadcaster Alex Brundle and IndyCar veteran Simona de Silvestro. There are many more exciting names yet to be announced, too, so be sure to check back here to Goodwood Road & Racing to keep up to date with everything in the build-up the Revival.
