Following last year’s successful collaboration between the lifestyle outdoor trade fair Home & Garden and Solitude GmbH, which specializes in special themes, this cooperation will be continued. This year, a Porsche Diesel Tractor Meeting will take place as part of Home & Garden at Solitude Castle from August 16 to 18, 2024. All tractors are welcome on Sunday. A reminder: last year, memories were brought back for the 120th anniversary of the race track on the outskirts of Stuttgart.
For the third time, the historic grounds around the Rococo Palace will be transformed into a paradise for lovers of the upscale lifestyle. In 2024, inspiration and enjoyment will once again be a top priority. Exquisite products and services relating to good living, home and garden, fashion and style, art and cuisine will be skillfully staged on the extensive green areas.
A varied program is planned for Home & Garden meets Porsche diesel tractors. Over the course of the three days, the grounds of the castle restaurant will be transformed into a paddock. Porsche diesel prototypes and former vehicles of Porsche personalities such as Huschke von Hanstein, Helmuth Bott, Paul Hensler and Dr. Heinz Rabe will be on display in the historic sheds. Pupils from the PORSCHE Diesel project will be restoring a Junior during the days. Another spectacular display will be a tractor and a super sports car from Porsche and Lamborghini. Incidentally, these are both brands of today’s VW Group, whose origins can be traced back to the construction of tractors.
On Friday afternoon, August 16, 2024, a drive around the former Solitude racetrack was planned with a stop at the original start and finish tower.
On Saturday, August 17, 2024, around 30 Porsche diesels will line up in front of the Porsche Museum between 13:00 and 15:00. Finally, on Sunday, the theme is “Porsche Diesel meets friends”. On this day, all tractor brands are welcome at Solitude Palace.
As in the previous year, the bridge to the city of Stuttgart will also be built on Friday morning with a convoy from the new Porsche Design Tower in Stuttgart to Solitude Palace. This will be escorted by historic motorcycles from the Stuttgart Police Museum. A selection of Porsche tractors will follow the police riders, as will the Mercedes-Benz O 3500 bus from the Konrad Auwärter Museum, incidentally the original team bus of the 1954 national soccer team.
To the surprise of the guests, the first mobile filling station in Germany, a VW T 3, will also be parked at the departure point. His Royal Highness Prince Leopold of Bavaria will personally refuel the vehicles in the convoy with synthetic fuels, thus setting an example for environmentally friendly mobility.
Porsche tractor enthusiasts from all over Germany and South Tyrol will be taking part in the first tractor meeting at Solitude Castle – and are showing themselves to be intrepid. Some of them will be traveling on the road. They will be taking part with the Porsche diesel model series with one, two, three or four cylinders.
