Rico Customs is always searching for the perfect 911 and is building rare one-off Porsches. With his passion for perfection and his eye for innovation he is breathing new life into timeless icons.
We recently had the idea of building a really cool and unique 911R together – as a joint project between Rico Customs and collectorscarworld. A unique and very individual masterpiece that is to be the prelude to a long-term collaboration.
Rico enthused that he would like to build a sleek, silver 911 like the one in the movie Top Gun with Tom Cruise. And Rico immediately had a picture of this 911 in mind, which he described as follows:
We take a Carrera 3.2 with 231 HP and in the color GT Silver Metallic as the basis. The car is fully backdated to an F model with a simple R look and classic details:
– Center filler gas tank
– Louvred side windows
– Rear Window Straps
– Full Suspension Rebuild with upgraded shocks and brakes
– Full engine rebuild on a stock 3.2
– Beige interior R carpet set with vintage brown leather seats and door panels
– Clean dashboard with R/C branded details
– Classic steelie wheels , matching the vintage race look
We then decided that this 911R really should remain a one-off and then called Helge Jepsen, the cult artist and well-known illustrator, to ask him to draw and visualize our dream car, which doesn’t even exist yet. Helge started drawing cars at the age of eight and has since worked for many well-known international newspapers and magazines. So he has helped to make this 911 R visible.
