Richard Mille Honours The 2025 Le Mans Classic With A Dedicated Rm 30-01 LMC Edition

Since its creation in 2002, Le Mans Classic has established itself as the biennial celebration of the sports cars that have written the history of the greatest endurance race of all time. During this 12th edition, from July 3 to 6, 2025, the legendary 13.6 km Sarthe circuit will host a retrospective featuring the most impressive race cars that competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 1923 and the 2000s. Among them, 750 vehicles will take part in the race.

As in the previous 11 editions, the cars will compete over a 24-hour period in six different categories—called “plateaux”—each grouping together cars of the same type that raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 1923 and 1981. Support races also promise spectators thrilling moments of adrenaline.

While nearly 1,000 drivers will compete for various titles, the Le Mans village and surrounding areas will host an impressive gathering of more than 9,000 classic cars from 80 different brands, as well as over 200 car clubs and private collectors. At its first edition, Le Mans Classic welcomed around 30,000 spectators. Since then, attendance has grown steadily—from those initial 30,000 to 235,000 in 2023—and is expected to break records this year.

Richard Mille & Le Mans Classic: A Shared Passion for Racing

A major partner of Le Mans Classic since 2002, Richard Mille shares the same values: celebrating mechanical beauty while honoring the past and demonstrating unwavering commitment—even on the track, where members of the team themselves take the wheel.

Among them is Maxime Guenat, following in the footsteps of founders Richard Mille and Dominique Guenat—his father—as he competes at the highest level in the historic race. This stands as proof that the brand’s automotive inspiration has been passed on to a new generation, both on and off the circuit.

RM 30-01 Le Mans Classic: Performance Accelerated

Since 2008, Richard Mille has developed a new watch to pay tribute to each edition of Le Mans Classic, each incorporating the event’s signature green and white colors. In total, ten special editions have been created. Released in a limited edition of 150 pieces to mark the 12th edition, the RM 30-01 continues this chromatic tradition through its case design, with two titanium bezels enclosing a green Quartz TPT® caseband. Through green and orange interior details, a checkered flag framing the oversized date, the Le Mans Classic logo on the sapphire case back, and a green rubber strap perforated like the air vents of race cars, the new watch once again celebrates an event especially dear to the brand.

Among the watch’s technical features—developed with the same precision as a race car—the RMAR2 caliber has been modified to include a new 24-hour counter. The green-tinted “16” segment refers to the green flag waved at the start of the legendary endurance race. This detail alters the dial’s design, whose skeletonized and reinterpreted aesthetic evokes a racetrack layout. Through titanium bridges and a skeletonized baseplate, the dial’s design continues with a 55-hour power reserve indicator. The clutch engagement indicator at 11 o’clock shows whether the rotor is engaged during winding (on) or disengaged (off), while the function selector at 3 o’clock indicates the current crown setting.

Just as this classic competition pays fervent tribute to a legendary centennial race, the RM 30-01 Le Mans Classic proudly displays its automotive inspiration.
