RETRO CLASSICS ESSEN® 2026: Classic Passion & Real Expertise

From April 8 to 12, 2026, RETRO CLASSICS ESSEN® will celebrate its premiere at the Essen Exhibition Center. As one of the leading trade fairs for classic vehicles, modern classics, and automotive lifestyle, the fair is coming to the Ruhr region for the first time and brings together international dealers, renowned specialists, and collectors.

The event stands for high-quality presentations, in-depth expertise, and automotive history you can touch – in the heart of a region with a deep-rooted automotive tradition. “I don’t stock cars just because they sell well. I sell cars that are close to my heart, cars that stand out and don’t necessarily have to be expensive,” says Roy Bolks, owner of Metropole in Druten, Netherlands.

The company’s portfolio is correspondingly diverse: in addition to spectacular sports cars from various eras, it also includes automotive curiosities such as the Fulda Mobil, Amphicar, and rare mini delivery vans such as the Goliath Express and Tempo Matador. Complemented by a large museum, event spaces, and professional logistics, Metropole is much more than a classic dealer—it is an automotive world of experience.

Since 1984, Classic Data has been collecting comprehensive market data on classic cars, modern classics, exotic cars, and special vehicles, and has already carried out over 400,000 vehicle valuations in collaboration with partner offices.

As an economically independent company with no ties to insurance companies, dealers, or restoration businesses, Classic Data stands for neutral, objective appraisals based on the proven dual control principle, in which market values are determined centrally and vehicles are additionally inspected on site by experts.

This combination of database, experience, and independence makes Classic Data a recognized authority far beyond Germany.

“The trade fair is one of the most important trade fairs for classic vehicles with a national reach, and the proportion of international visitors is particularly high,” explains Marius Brune, Managing Director of Classic Data GmbH & Co. KG.
