Talacrest’s Chairman John Collins has had a life-long passion for Ferrari and used to run a Ferrari 246 Dino as his everyday road car as a photo journalist 38 years ago. Today his enthusiasm for Ferrari remains undiminished after selling approximately 1700 + classic Ferrari – and the thrill of conducting the next deal and helping collectors obtain their dream classic Ferrari is the driving force behind the company.
WITH 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE TALACREST HAVE SOLD MORE THAN $1 BILLION WORTH OF FERRARI
“We are the world’s most experienced classic Ferrari dealer – having sold in excess of about 1700 Ferrari – ranging from the earliest Ferrari road car models to the last Ferrari Sports Car Prototype – the 333sp. We routinely discreetly trade some very serious Ferrari and other exotic classic cars outside the public domain and we represent your ultimate destination if you are serious about buying or selling blue chip, collector Ferrari road or racecars. Whether you are buying or selling classic Ferrari, contact Talacrest.”
The business was established in 1987 and has sold just about every classic Ferrari made – it would be easier to draw up a list of Ferrari NOT sold by Talacrest than those that they have sold. “You should bear in mind that with the volume of Ferrari that we have sold – sometimes we have sold an individual car many times over. A classic example being a Ferrari 275 GTB/2 6 carburettor alloy car that we have sold no less than 6 times!”
Customers come back to Talacrest time and again – because buying or selling from the best is a straightforward process – and equally whatever cycle the market is in – the very best cars that we sell are always a good long term investment prospect, as well as an exciting ownership proposition.
The Talacrest Team
“Our buyers and researchers ensure that all cars that we offer for sale have the most comprehensive history dossiers substantiating a car’s provenance. If we come across really good cars which require minor remedial work to make them perfect – we use the best restorers and marque experts to ensure that all cars prepared for sale are in the best possible condition and the work undertaken has added value without compromising originality. ” Find out more

1966 Ferrari 330 GTC
The 330 GTC was introduced to the world at the Geneva Motor Show in March of 1966. Fitted with a four-litre V-12 engine producing 300 bhp at 7,000 rpm with triple Weber carburetors, these cars featured hydraulic disc brakes, a fully independent suspension, and a tubular steel chassis with similarities to that of the 275 GTB.
Subtly styled for those looking to use their 330 GTCs on a regular basis, these cars quickly developed a reputation as an excellent grand tourer. Its Pininfarina coachwork sported a nose similar to that of the 400 Superamerica and a tail similar to that of the 275 GTS. Each car was fitted as standard with a full leather interior and electric windows, with air conditioning available as an optional extra. Just 598 examples were built… . Find out more
1973 Ferrari 246 GTS Dino
Ordered by Dick Lovett Ferrari of Swindon in April 1973, chassis 06752 was specified with Rosso Dino paintwork over a Nero interior, with extras including electric windows and the ultra-desirable Daytona-style seats. Of the 235 Dino 246 GTSs sold new in the UK, this is one of just eight, to have Daytona style seats. A Ferrari factory invoice was generated on the 12th of July 1973 and the car was transported to the UK Ferrari importer – Maranello Concessionaires in Egham. The Ferrari dealer Dick Lovett was invoiced on the 17th of July for the sum of £5,612 and received the car later that month.
No doubt used as a demonstrator by Dick Lovett for a few months, the car was registered with the number plate “OHR 606M” – which it still displays today and sold to it’s first owner – Mr N. G. Parham in Kent, on 23 October 1973. A month later Dick Lovett carried out both the A and B services on the 20th November, with the mileage recorded as 1,335 miles. Clearly Mr Parham cherished the Dino and in 1987 the MOT certificate showed the car had covered 22,680 miles… . Find out more

A fascinating book by John Collins.
This book is a fascinating insight into the world of dealing in classic collector Ferraris and other exotic cars from John Collins. It tells the inside story about John Collins and Talacrest, from its beginning to present day and is also a wonderful catalogue of the world’s most fabulous cars that Talacrest and John have been involved with.
With approximately 350 pages, the book is prolifically illustrated with stunning archive pictures from Auto Italia and Marcel Massini amongst others and includes many important Ferrari road and racing cars. Many are accompanied with histories, track tests and how the deals were done.
The book has been published to commemorate Talacrest’s 30th Anniversary and documents the start of the business with borrowed capital from mates in the local pub, to the development of an enterprise which became the first Classic Car dealer to win a Queen’s Award for Export.
