After the start of the 1000 km race on the Österreichring in 1974, Jean-Pierre Jarier in his Matra MS670C took off in first place, but what followed on lap three was one of the oddest pit stops of all time.

The floor panel under his feet had fallen off and, already by the first corner of the race, his feet had fallen almost to the track and he had to come to the pits to fix the problem, losing three laps and in the end finishing third.
Motorsport Classic 2024 Calendar

As always, there is a mini-story about each picture, and there are a total of twenty-five photographs in an attractive format of sixty-seven by forty-eight centimetres.
