When the HK-Engineering 300 SL “Rennflügel” sets off for the Goodwood Revival, it’s more than just a race entry – it’s a journey into the past. The car was meticulously prepared in Polling before heading off under its own power all the way to Dunkirk – a true adventure, perfectly in the spirit of the event.
A workshop report from Polling
Goodwood is no ordinary race. It’s not about lap times or trophies, but about style, passion, and authenticity. Our SL was a visual highlight – yet on the starting grid, we found ourselves among cars that were up to ten years younger and significantly more powerful. A shot at the front of the field was never realistic – but that was never the point.
For us, it was all about being part of it: the atmosphere, the teamwork, the shared meals – with homemade goulash instead of canned ravioli, and more than 20 people gathered around the table. Everyone pitched in, whether in the pit lane or the kitchen.
Despite tight pit spaces, classic British weather, and a limited supply of spare parts, everything ran smoothly – technically and personally. In the end, we look back on a weekend full of memories: with old friends, new connections, and the deep satisfaction of having been part of something truly special.
Goodwood isn’t a race. It’s a feeling.
