Bonhams Motoring Division has announced details of its revised UK motoring sales schedule, and the launch of its Private Sales platform.
Auctions will take place on the following dates with sellers utilising the Motoring Division’s Bonhams MPH online consignment platform (https://mph.bonhams.com/sellyourcar)
• Bonhams May Online Auction, Saturday 30 May
• Bonhams July Online Auction, Saturday 25 July
Depending on Government advice at the time, the auctions will be either traditional ‘live sales’ with viewing; or ‘closed auctions’ with a live auctioneer. For closed auctions, there will be enhanced video content of each lot, and viewing by appointment, if that is possible, or – if not – online viewing only.
Bonhams will aim to conduct the auctions from its MPH base at Bicester Heritage. Should that not be possible, sales will be conducted from Bonhams Oxford saleroom.
Private sales
Despite many of People being confined to their homes, there is still a healthy appetite to acquire motor cars. To meet this demand, Bonhams Motoring has established a Private Sales platform to provide a personalised way of buying and selling vehicles during this challenging time.
Bonhams Group Motoring Chairman, James Knight, said, “Bonhams has the most experienced and consistently successful team in the international market for motor cars, and motorcycles. Bonhams is still accepting entries for the auctions and their Private Sales platform will provide vendors with an effective and transparent way to find buyers, offering integrity, proficiency and passion.”
Bonhams Private Sales draws on the auction house’s Global Motoring Network of specialists and consultants with more than 150 years industry experience between them across the UK, Europe, America and further afield.
Bonhams has already proved the effectiveness of this new model, selling a unique 1956 Lister-Maserati 2.0-litre sports-racing two-seater for an impressive ÂŁ575,000, in the Bonhams Motor Cars private sale held on 29 March.
The Lister was scheduled to go under the hammer at the Bonhams Goodwood Members’ Meeting Sale (28/29 March) but, with the other lots, was offered for private sale after the auction was cancelled because of Covid-19.
Motor cars already consigned for Private Sales include:
• 1963 Aston Martin DB4 ‘Series 5’ Vantage Convertible. One of 70 DB4 convertibles made and one of only five Series Vs with Vantage engine.
• 2011 Aston Martin One-77 Q-Series Coupé The sixth of only seven Q-Series Special Editions with only one owner and 300kms from new.
