The Audi Revolut F1 Team will enter Formula 1 in 2026. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Audi Tradition is looking back at the origins of Grand Prix racing in a special exhibition titled ‘Legends of Grand Prix.’

From December 16, 2025, until the start of the new Formula 1 season on March 8, 2026, the Audi museum mobile will display fascinating racing cars from more than 100 years of history, including the winning car from the very first Grand Prix race, Michael Schumacher’s first Formula 1 car, and the legendary Silver Arrows: the Auto Union Grand Prix racing cars Type A, Type C, and Type D.
As Audi prepares to enter Formula 1, the brand builds on a deep and successful motorsport legacy that spans rallying, touring cars, U.S. circuit racing, and 13 victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Its racing heritage dates back to the 1920s with NSU Grand Prix wins and the dominant Auto Union Silver Arrows of the 1930s, underscoring Audi’s long-standing presence at the highest levels of motorsport.

“With our special exhibition, ‘Legends of Grand Prix’, we want to shorten the winter break in Formula 1 for all fans and present many spectacular exhibits from the history of motorsport’s premier class until the first race of the new season,” said Stefan Trauf, Head of Audi Tradition.
The exhibition appeals to both Formula 1 fans and enthusiasts of early racing history, highlighting landmark vehicles from motorsport’s beginnings. Among the standout displays is a replica Renault AK 90 CV, representing the car driven by Ferenc Szisz to victory in the 1906 French Grand Prix—the first Grand Prix race. The exhibit also features a Talbot-Lago T26 C, one of the cars that competed in Formula 1’s inaugural race at Silverstone in 1950.

The exhibition features standout historic race cars, led by the NSU 6/60 PS, famous for its quadruple class victory at the 1926 German Grand Prix. Other highlights include the legendary Bugatti Type 35 C, Auto Union Grand Prix cars from the 1930s, and iconic Formula 1 machines driven by Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher. Rounding out the display are modern cars such as the Sauber C31 and Audi’s 2023 F1 show car, linking motorsport history to Audi’s upcoming 2026 Formula 1 debut.
The Audi museum mobile at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt is open Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm and from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. It is closed from December 22, 2025, until January 6, 2026. Can’t make it over to Germany in the next couple of months? No problem. You can discover the special exhibition anytime via the Audi Tradition app which is available at the App Store and the Google Play Store.
