Ordered by Dick Lovett Ferrari of Swindon in April 1973, chassis 06752 was specified with Rosso Dino paintwork over a Nero interior, with extras including electric windows and the ultra-desirable Daytona-style seats. Of the 235 Dino 246 GTSs sold new in the UK, this is one of just eight, to have Daytona style seats. A Ferrari factory invoice was generated on the 12th of July 1973 and the car was transported to the UK Ferrari importer – Maranello Concessionaires in Egham. The Ferrari dealer Dick Lovett was invoiced on the 17th of July for the sum of ÂŁ5,612 and received the car later that month.
No doubt used as a demonstrator by Dick Lovett for a few months, the car was registered with the number plate “OHR 606M” – which it still displays today and sold to it’s first owner – Mr N. G. Parham in Kent, on 23 October 1973. A month later Dick Lovett carried out both the A and B services on the 20th November, with the mileage recorded as 1,335 miles. Clearly Mr Parham cherished the Dino and in 1987 the MOT certificate showed the car had covered 22,680 miles.
Six years later Mr Parham decided to use the considerably more local Kent and High Performance Cars to handle service and maintenance duties and by 2005 the car had covered a mere 23,329 miles – just 100 miles per year over the last 6 in his ownership. This lack of use might explain why in the same year he sold the car to Mr Uren, who continued to use the same Ferrari specialist to maintain the car. He kept the car for 18 years before selling it to the last owner in April 2023.
#06752 presents superbly today in it’s original colour combination of Rosso Dino with a Nero interior and displays matching numbers engine and gearbox with the correct boot hinge number stamps. The speedo shows 25,763 miles which based on the supporting history and handful of owners would suggest is accurate. Complete with the rare Dino embossed folio with the Ferrari manuals and books, this Dino ticks all the boxes for a collector, with outstanding provenance, supporting history, low mileage and an ultra desirable factory specification.
