Cooper’s first World Championship points scorer, following the adoption of two-litre regulations for 1952, Ecurie Richmond’s Alan Brown finished fifth in the opening Swiss GP at Bremgarten.
At Goodwood on Easter Monday, Brown had placed second on CB/2/52’s debut in the Lavant Cup F2 race, and guest Fangio sixth in the Chichester Cup Formula Libre event – his sole race there! Reconfigured as a handsome two-seater ‘Barchetta’ [T25] in 1954, it successfully competed at home and abroad with Equipe Devone’s Tom Kyffin for two years.
