Surf takes on a new dimension this year with the SURF INVITATIONAL and the “Expression Sessions” curated by Clovis Donizetti throughout the event. True to the spirit of classic surfing, Wheels and Waves brings together established longboard riders and the new generation in a contest where men and women share the same waves in mixed sessions.
This year, shapers will also join the judging panel to evaluate riders’ performances, at the crossroads of style and technical ability. As the sun sets, the atmosphere shifts with the expression sessions, opening up a freer approach to surfing, bathed in sunset colors.
New for this edition: Katin, an iconic surf brand since the 1950s and the inventor of the boardshort, is joining the Wheels and Waves Surfing Club to share its story, blending heritage and modernity. Stay tuned, we’ve got a few surprises lined up.
Raised at Côte des Basques in Biarritz, Clovis has been immersed in longboarding from an early age. Through encounters with elders and visiting legends, his appreciation for this art form, as it was practiced in the 60s, became something deeper, not a style exercise, but a means of expression.
Since then, through various projects and competitions, he has continued to share this vision… A blend of tradition and culture.
