This remarkable ‘no reserve’ collection further underlines RM Sotheby’s reputation as the leading auction house for selling single-owner collections. Created by Mr Iseli over many years, the collection is made notable not only by the remarkable and diverse spread of machinery but also the quality that is shown throughout the collection. Daniel Iseli is a lifelong car enthusiast who has been collecting since the 1970s, and there are cars within the current collection that he first acquired in the early 1980s. An absolute perfectionist, he has maintained the best examples in fastidious condition.

The collection features an astonishing array of 92 cars, scooters, tractors, and buses. One of the standout lots is the 1984 Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.3-16 ‘Nürburgring’. As one of just 21 examples prepared exclusively for the 1984 Nürburgring ‘Race of Champions’, this example was driven to second overall in the race by Formula One icon Niki Lauda. It is accompanied with verification by Mercedes-Benz Classic, the Nürburgring Archives, and copies of its vehicle logbook. This remarkable piece of motorsport history also benefits from being an eminently usable road car and will undoubtedly attract huge interest from enthusiasts and collectors (Estimate: CHF400,000 – CHF500,000).

Another highlight lot is the 1970 Porsche 911 S Coupé. Finished in green over black with Fuchs wheels, it is a well-preserved example of Porsche’s top-of-the-line sports car in 1970 and was sold new in Bologna, Italy. Accompanied by previous Italian documentation, this beautiful flat-six-powered machine is estimated to sell between CHF150,000 – CHF180,000.

Further highlights of the collection include a pure piece of la dolce vita in the form of a 1960 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider by Touring. With a body by Touring of Milan, this example is handsomely presented in grigio over beige leather upholstery with a black fabric convertible soft-top (Estimate: CHF140,000 – CHF160,000). The collection also features a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 220 S Cabriolet, which boasts a recent restoration and is arguably one of Mercedes-Benz’s most elegant creations (Estimate: CHF130,000 – CHF160,000).
