1953 Mercedes Benz 300S Coupe “Matching Numbers”

  • Expertly restored and rebuilt
  • Authentic color scheme “Schwarz uber Beige-braun”
  • One of 216 “300S Coupes” produced
  • Retains the matching-numbers engine as per “Fahrzeugdaten-Kart”
  • Newly delivered in Bodental-Germany
  • More expensive than the 300 SL Gullwing at that time
  • One of the most luxurious MB Coupes

The Mercedes-Benz 300 S Coupé ranks among the most exclusive and prestigious models produced by the marque in the 1950s. With only 216 units built, the Coupé is considerably rarer than the 300 SL Gullwing. This particular example, originally delivered in Bodental, Germany, is presented in exceptional condition, embodying pure class and craftsmanship.

The car has been fully and expertly restored to the highest standards. The restoration was carried out with meticulous attention to detail and full respect for the original specifications, preserving authenticity while achieving uncompromising quality. Both bodywork and mechanics have been perfected with craftsmanship, resulting in a Coupé that presents itself in true concours condition. The interior exudes the same exclusive allure, finished in the elegant and authentic color combination “Schwarz over Beige-brown.” This timeless specification enhances the model’s beauty and reflects the luxurious refinement for which the 300 S Coupé was renowned.

Importantly, this example retains its original matching-numbers engine, as documented by the original Fahrzeugdaten-Karte. For discerning collectors, this represents undeniable proof of authenticity and value.

When Mercedes-Benz introduced the 300 S Coupé in 1951, it was the most expensive and luxurious two-door car in the lineup. Priced even higher than the legendary 300 SL Gullwing, the 300 S positioned itself as the absolute flagship for the most demanding clientele. Combining hand-built quality, refined engineering, and exclusivity, the 300 S Coupé stood as a true status symbol in its day.

Today, the 300 S Coupé is regarded as one of the most desirable classics in Mercedes-Benz history. This particular example distinguishes itself not only through its rarity and matching numbers but also through the impeccable quality of its restoration. A unique opportunity to acquire one of the most luxurious and exclusive 1950s models in absolute top condition – a valuable addition to any leading collection.

Gallery Aaldering is a family owned business since 1975. Founder Nico Aaldering and his son Nick are responsible for operational and executive management. The company has been in Brummen since 1987 and started on the location where they currently have their second workshop and detailing shop. Nico started very small, with only three employees. People who still work for the company today. The company grew rapidly and established a name for itself based on quality. In the nineties it was time for expansions after many years of selling Alfa Romeo, then Italian cars later on followed by British cars as well. At the end of 2000 Gallery Aaldering moved to the current premises at the Arnhemsestraat in Brummen. This showroom was build according to Nico's idea and sketches and has a Neoclassical style to match the classic cars inside. During this time Nick entered the company after finishing his studies and working for different automotive companies. Gallery Aaldering expanded and gained momentum with the decades of experience offered by Nico and the bright new ideas and progressive vision offered by Nick. The collection became more diverse with an important move upwards to higher segments. Gallery Aaldering has grown to become one of the largest classic car dealers in Europe. There are about 350 classic cars on display on four floors with a Grand Café and special rooms for business meetings. As a family owned business Gallery Aaldering is proud of its history and traditions, but the future is just as important. At the heart of this all is the passion for classic automobiles. For that reason they participate in the most impressive classic car rally in the world, the Mille Miglia. A deeply rooted love for cars. You will find this in both their genes and the identity of this family owned business.
