CFG Peralta S Pays Tribute To The Famous Boomerang

Giorgetto Giugiaro‘s son has designed a striking one-off supercar that literally mirrors the 1971 Maserati Boomerang. Sculpted in polished aluminum, the Peralta S was penned by Fabrizio Giugiaro and developed by the design dynasty’s company CFG Style for Mexican collector Carlos Peralta.

Its design is Guigiaro Junior’s take on his father’s trademark wedge shape, while the forward-opening canopy is similar to that featured Pininifarina’s 1970 Ferrari Modulo and Maserati Birdcage 75th from 2005.

Although CFG Style has yet to reveal the mechanical underpinnings of the Peralta S, the company confirms that the structure is carbon fiber, and a look inside shows a cabin that appears almost identical to the Maserati MC20, which would be very appropriate of course.

Powered by a twin-turbo, three-liter Nettuno V-6 engine the MC20 makes 621 horsepower and sends drive to the rear via an eight-speed dual clutch transmission. The MC20 is capable of accelerating from zero to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, although the Peralta S likely won’t match that due its heavier aluminum body and canopy roof replacing the all-carbon MC20’s components.

A few tenths slower will hardly matter to Peralta, the car’s owner, who will dazzle on-lookers wherever he drives thanks not just to the highly-polished surface, but with the simple purity of its design. In profile, it’s one beautiful, unbroken curve from nose to tail, and the details, including a pop-up rear wing and dished aero wheels are delightful.

In fact, we can see only one area where Giugiaro may have missed a trick—and that’s by not recreating the original Boomerang’s incredible steering wheel.

The Peralta S made its debut at Mexico’s Pastejé Automotive Invitational car show and as CFG Style’s first one-off customer car, you may well be able to catch it at other high-end events such as Monterey Car Week throughout 2025.
