Bruce McLaren had his latest toy ready for the Monaco Grand Prix in 1969. This was the M7C with new aerodynamics and front wheels with central locking nuts.

But there was a surprise for all the teams as their high wings were banned after the first practice session and had to be permanently removed. In those days it was considered normal procedure to drive racing cars for transport or even carry out a test on public roads.
Motorsport Classic 2024 Calendar
The McKlein Motorsport Classic calendar evokes the great years of motor racing and rallying with names like Monza and Monaco, Spa-Francorchamps and the Safari Rally and those of drivers like John Surtees, Niki Lauda, Walter Röhrl, Bruce McLaren and Phil Hill. As always, there is a mini-story about each picture, and there are a total of twenty-five photographs in an attractive format of sixty-seven by forty-eight centimetres.
